Also designed by Pete Dye and opened alongside the Straits Course in 1998, the Irish Course occupies the inland portion of the Whistling Straits property, rolling through glacially carved terrain with deep ravines, mounding, and natural wetlands. Play the Irish Course the day after the Straits to reset your ego — it's genuinely enjoyable rather than punishing, and the reduced crowds mean a more relaxed pace of play.

Opened in 1990 and also designed by Pete Dye, Meadow Valleys shares the Blackwolf Run property but plays through a more open, undulating landscape of meadows, wetlands, and native grass areas rather than the tight river corridor of its sibling. Meadow Valleys plays slightly softer and more forgiving than the River Course, so use it as your warm-up round first if you're playing both courses in a single trip to Blackwolf Run.
