The Ocean Course

Designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1991, The Ocean Course is a windswept, exposed links-style layout stretching along 2.5 miles of Atlantic coastline, offering more ocean views than virtually any other course in the continental United States. Book a morning tee time in spring or fall when the wind is at its calmest and the low angle of sunlight makes the ocean shimmer alongside nearly every hole; midday summer rounds with a sea breeze can add several clubs of difficulty.

Cassique

Designed by Tom Watson and opened in 2000, Cassique is a semi-private club course set on the inland marshes and maritime forest of Kiawah Island, offering a quieter, more intimate experience than its famous neighbor The Ocean Course. Because Cassique sees significantly less traffic than The Ocean Course or Turtle Point, late afternoon tee times often allow for an unhurried round with spectacular golden-hour light over the surrounding marshes.

Turtle Point

Request a cart path on the oceanside holes and take a moment to walk the beach between 15 and 17 — the views back toward the course and down the coastline are among the most scenic on the entire island and most golfers rush past them.

Osprey Point's sheltered inland setting makes it the best choice on windy days when The Ocean Course becomes nearly unplayable, and the afternoon light filtering through the live oak canopy in the back nine creates some of the most atmospheric golf photography on the island.
